FAQs

Do I have to have a roommate?

Nope. It is entirely up to you. If you want to travel single, all of our solo expeditions have single occupancy available, although supplements will apply.

I have a friend who wants to come along. Can we be roommates?

Absolutely.

How do you match roommates?

We match roommates of the same gender. We also have a short questionnaire we ask you to fill out to learn your preferences such as early bird/night owl, stateroom category, etc. to get the best fit for you.

What if you don’t find me a roommate?

We offer a guarantee share program. If you requested but are not matched with a roommate, we’ll pay the supplement!

What are the ages of your participants?

We don’t have any requirements or restrictions. The majority of our participants are age forties to sixties, but age is such a state of mind. The main requirements are a desire to have a good time, make new friends, and enjoy new experiences.

I really don’t like going on all those excursions. Can I just do my own thing?

No problem. Want to hang around in Cairo and skip the museum tour? We’ll see you when we get back! Would you rather stay on board and hang out by the pool than go into port? Go for it. Of course, you do have to go with the ship when it leaves port! But, basically it is your vacation – do what you want.

How do I get the best rates?

We hold allotments at the lowest available rates. But, space goes quickly. To get the best rates and the best availability, book early.

The expedition I want is sold out. Now what?

We maintain waitlists for all sold out packages. Occasionally we are able to add to our allotment and increase a group’s size; now and then people cancel. It never hurts to ask. Regular deposit is required to be waitlisted. We draw from our waitlist in order of deposit date. So the sooner you get on the waitlist, the more likely to get cleared.
